20 minutes from downtown Millerton on the southern edge of Pine Plaines, the two mile hike up Stissing Mountain to the fire tower offers spectactular views of the surrounding area. There are two trails to the top, a short one which is very challenging, and a longer one which is more gradual as it was the Jeep road for the fire watchers. www.stissingfiretower.org
